Hi there,

 

My Name is Ollie and I have been working as a freelance Personal Trainer for many years starting out at a very young age. I have been based in Cardiff for the last 7 years working from many locations with many different clients. Here is a little bit more about myself and what I have been up to.

 

My earliest memories with any ambition of setting myself a fitness goal came at the young age of 8. At this age I decided to run my local Easter Fun Run in Solva, West Wales. It was 9 Miles!!! My dad said I could enter, but he was under the impression I would want to hitch a ride after 1 mile. As each mile got eaten up by my tiny legs he was there getting ready to stop me, but I just kept on running past him. I remember passing several people that just inspired me to push more for home. I finished 3rd in the Under 14 catagory and won the Youngest Competitor award.

 

Like most young boys I was regulary involved with playing for my local football team.  Later due to Injury, my days of playing football where limited, so upon my Dad giving up smoking and taking up cycling, I then decided to join him for regular cycle trips at the age of 13. From there I knew where my passion was. I then went on to join a local cycling team and then win multiple competitions and awards including 3 Welsh Titles.

I am more than familiar with the hard work and dedication athletes endure to get to their goals from my own personal experience. I was lucky enough to be coached by a Family Friend Nick Baker who competed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and Shane Sutton, my former Wales coach and Current team GB and Team Sky Coach. Working with a Nick and Shane inspired me to do well in my chosen sport, not only with the professional advice they gave me, but being there as a friend when times were hard going. This is where I pride myself in my work. Not only will I guide you through the good times, but be there when times are tough, whatever your ability or goals.

                                                                                                                                                                                                   My experience as a Personal Trainer started out in Australia in 2001 once I had gained the relevant qualifications. During then I worked with a great team of Personal Trainers where I learnt many skills, and  trained with great many people who came to me for inspiration in their lives to make it a healthier and fitter one. I have worked for Cardiff University, where as an associate lecturer I conducted programme design, fitness testing and nutritional advice. My Fitness Services within the Cardiff area has been very succesful over the last 6 years and I wish to continue working with great people.

 

For the last couple of years I have been a Fitness Manager for Fitness First and currently I am one of Nuffield Health`s, Health and Fitness Programme Managers. Within both roles I have headed operations within the facilities to make people`s fitness experience more exciting as well as educate and train both new and experienced teams of Fitness Consultants and Personal Trainers.

 

I have also worked alongside with the Ministry of Defence not only to conduct Pre -Joining Fitness Tests, but help those candidates participating by conducting very strict and effective programmes. I still use these fitness tests as good goal setting for my clients or any newcomers who are not quite sure how to set goals or see measurable results.
